October Newsletter 2025

We are falling into October with fun educational events. As we enjoy the cool, fall air, we will be learning about fall leaves, pumpkins, owls, spiders, and safety, along with our Montessori curriculum.

Fall Pictures 

Fothergill Photography will be here to take pictures Wednesday, October 1^st and Thursday, October 2^nd. Your student should have brought home info sheet already. Please call Cathy Fothergill @ 936-646-7351 if you have any questions or concerns.

FALL BREAK 

No Private School classes Monday, October 6th – Friday, October 10th or Monday, October 13th. Other activities will be provided. Please let your child’s teacher or office staff know if your student will be attending.

Fundraiser 

Thank you to all who participated in our Fall Fundraiser. Orders should be arriving within 3-4 weeks. 

Hearing/Vision Testing 

Hearing/vision screening is scheduled for October 22^nd. If your preschool through 1^st grade student was at least 4 years of age or older as of September 1^st, 2025, they must have a vision and hearing test every year in order to be enrolled in school. Additionally, students in 3^rd, 5^th, and 7^th grades must also be screened. These screenings are state mandated. More info will be sent home soon with your student.

Montessori and My Student 

Children possess a remarkable ability to absorb the world that surrounds them. Maria Montessori believed the years from three to six are the most critical period for nurturing a child’s natural curiosity and for laying the foundation for all future development.  Montessori schools provide a carefully planned and stimulating environment which help the child develop an excellent foundation for future learning. The specific goals for the students who attend a Montessori school are to develop within each student a positive attitude toward school, help develop self-confidence, assist in building a habit of concentration, foster an abiding curiosity, develop habits of initiative and persistence, to foster inner security and a sense of order.  For the older student, this framework is used to maintain academic competency.
